In the manufacturing industry, there are many misconceptions about high-speed milling machines as follows:

High-speed toolholders and knives

high speed spindle

High dynamic XYZ axis

High-speed CNC controller

high-speed program strategy

For high-speed cutting

As the speed increases to a certain extent, the temperature and cutting force of the tool will gradually decrease. This phenomenon is used in high-speed milling technology.

2. High-speed spindle

In fact, the high-speed spindle is like the high-speed and high-power engine in an F1 car.

The spindle can be roughly divided into two specifications:

3. High dynamic performance of each axis

In fact, the bed structure of the machine itself is like the chassis of a car, strong and safe to absorb shock and vibration.

Traditional hard rails can achieve better accuracy through adjustments on the machine, but it cannot achieve the high-speed machining that linear slides can achieve. High-speed axes and solid bed structure, acceleration is the key factor, high-acceleration axes reduce time waste, better cutting surface, and low tool wear.

In fact, the controller is like a driver. Its operating skills determine the outcome of the car. It needs to be forward-looking, sensitive and quick to react.

5. CAM machining strategies for high-speed milling

Actually, there are many paths to get from one point to the next, but all paths have different effects in speed, surface, etc.

With bearings => high torque, the current excellent speed can reach 54,000 revolutions.

Bearingless (gas driven) => low torque, but very fast (>100krpm).

High torque allows cutting of larger materials, using larger tools and harder materials. High rotational speed allows for faster cutting rates and HSM effects.
